Hi, I’m Russ Wolfinger. I train here at Forged Fitness in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I’m 49 years old, I’m one of the older guys here.
It’s just an awesome place to come and train. I’ve really found Jiu-Jitsu to be a place where I can discover my inner self. I get a great workout. It’s pretty much all I do for fitness these days. I try to train several days a week.
We have got phenomenal instructors here. Billy Dowey and Jason Culbreth are both black belts under Royce Gracie, and their instruction is top notch. One of the things I love about Jiu-Jitsu is the technical side of it, and there’s so many interesting things to learn. You learn about body mechanics and how to apply those in a very efficient manner. I’m not a great athlete or anything, but over time I have improved and I’ve learned to handle myself well, even against much stronger opponents.
The nice thing here at Forged is we’ve got such a good sized class that you can train with a whole variety of sizes and strengths, as well as skills levels. So depending on what you’re working on, or what you’re trying to do, you can test yourself at any kind of level.
The atmosphere here is really friendly. You can see in the background some guys are rolling, that means we’re at the end of a class today. We’ve just had some nice instruction, and then we have some free rolling time.
It’s really just an enjoyable place to be. There’s a lot of fun, fitness, and fulfillment. Come to Forged Fitness!
